  Battle of Beaver Dams June 24 1813 
Beaver Dams - Canada
In a sortie from Fort George on June 24, 1813, the Americans suffered an embarrassing defeat at Beaver Dams when Lt. Col. Charles Boerstler surrendered 484 officers and men to a force half their number. Similar to the way Americans were hoodwinked at Detroit, Lt. Autosse, Tallapoosa Riber, Mississippi Territory
Gen. John Floyd with 950 Georgia militia and 400 friendly Creek warriors marched 60 miles into Mississippi Territory to raid the hostile Creek village of Autosse killing 200 Indians and destroying 400 dwellings  more...

British Major General Robert Ross commanding around 4,000 troops routed the American troops numbering 6,000, (mainly raw militia) under Brigadier General William H. Winder, U.S. Army, and went on to occupy Washington, D.C.  more...
 
  Battle of Baltimore September 12-14 1814 
Baltimore City and Baltimore County, Maryland
British Major General Robert Ross was killed after landing in Old Roads Bay off North Point with around 4,800 troops. His second in command, Colonel Arthur Brooke won the Battle of North Point but at cost. However because the Royal Navy bombardment of Fort McHenry failed, Brooke was forced to withdraw without attempting the Baltimore defenses.   more...
